摘要：An ink jet printer casing which reduces the volume and thickness of a used inktank by fully utilizing the inherent ink absorbing capability of the ink absorbingsubstance. A used ink containing room, defined by side walls, is formed on the bottomsurface of the casing. The used ink containing room is divided into a plural number ofsegmental regions by partitioning plates. Individual segments of ink absorbing substancemade of a porous material are placed in the segmental regions, respectively. If the casingis tilted, the water heads of the segments of ink absorbing substance are low as a wholewhen viewed in the vertical direction since the segments of ink absorbing substance areisolated from one another by the partitioning plates. The ink absorbing substance mayalso be formed as a single member, and the ink led to a central part of the used inkcontaining room.
